The Run to Asilomar
This is one of my favorite places I used to run in the Monterey Bay area. I’d park by Lovers Point Park and run all the way out to Asilomar and a little past that, then come back. Some days there was a lot of wind, some days it was picture perfect. I always enjoyed it — just a different feeling out there. The birds, the smells, the ocean air. You could really breathe it in.

A cold fall morning in Dallas, Oregon.
This is such a classic Oregon sight — that early fall color coming in. You never know when it’s going to hit here. Some years it comes early, some years late. This was an early one.
I’ve walked in mornings like this before. That sharp cold air. It doesn’t make you want to stay out forever — but it does wake you up. It invigorates you.
Looking back at this, it gives me a little pleasure to feel that time again, to feel that cold. I don’t necessarily miss it too much — but I remember it.
