The Village That Bloomed

One spring morning, while out walking, I came across a beautiful red poppy. Its petals were thin as tissue, delicate enough to tremble in the slightest breeze, yet there was a quiet strength about it that caught my attention.

Year after year, these flowers return, asking for so little. A little rain, a little sunshine, and somehow they find their way back into the world. Something so fragile, yet so determined to live. Nature has a wonderful way of surprising us.

As I looked at this flower, my imagination began to wander. What if there were something more beneath those brilliant red petals? What if, hidden deep within its heart, there was an entire little city? Winding streets, glowing windows, tiny homes, and a whole world going about its business, completely unaware of the larger world surrounding it.

So I decided to bring that possibility to life.

And who knows? Maybe every flower holds a secret world of its own. Maybe the wonders we cannot see are just as extraordinary as the ones we can.

Sometimes the smallest things in nature leave the most room for our imagination.

The Scarecrow’s Little Secret

FINAL — 10-16-2026

An official statement from the Pumpkin Patch Courthouse

“Ladies and gentlemen, we are gathered here today to pay honor to our beloved scarecrow.

He’s been a lively one this year, as you can plainly see by his fascinating head, the birdhouse perched on top, and that mysterious little doorway to heaven located directly in the middle of his chest.

However, it has come to our attention that our distinguished scarecrow has been causing some rather unfortunate problems down at the courthouse.

Now, I want to be the first to say that I am deeply sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused.

But I can assure you, ladies and gentlemen, that going forward, this matter has been completely resolved.

Thank you. There will be no further questions.”

At that moment, the five pumpkins sitting in the front row exchanged nervous glances.

The little blue bird on the scarecrow’s head began whistling innocently.

Someone in the back raised a hand.

“Excuse me, sir. What exactly happened at the courthouse?”

Silence.

“And what’s behind that little door in his chest?”

More silence.

The scarecrow smiled.

The bird stopped whistling.

And somewhere deep inside the scarecrow’s chest, someone quietly turned a lock.

The investigation remains open.

The Pumpkin Patch Courthouse has declined further comment.
